METHOD OF FORMING ESOPHAGUS-GASTROCY ANASTOMOSIS Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61B17/11

Abstract RU 2810014 C1

FIELD: medicine; surgery; gastroenterology; oncology.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for surgical treatment of esophageal cancer. Using a thoraco-laparotomy approach, the stomach and esophagus are mobilized with lymph node dissection. The first row of seromuscular sutures is placed between the esophagus and the stomach, including on the sides of the mediastinal pleura and one in the middle. An esophageal-gastric anastomosis is formed. After suturing the anterior and posterior “lips” of the esophagogastric anastomosis, 2 “W” shaped sutures are placed over the seams of the anterior “lip” of the anastomosis. The needle is inserted from the pleura to the wall of the stomach, then to the esophagus, after which the wall of the stomach and esophagus is captured and the puncture is made on the wall of the stomach, capturing the mediastinal pleura. The course of the lines of the letter “W” is repeated, and the anastomosis is immersed between the walls of the esophagus and the pleura.

EFFECT: method increases the reliability of the anastomosis, reduces the risk of postoperative complications, the risk of disease relapse, improves the quality of life of patients due to its fixation in the pleural cavity, reducing the load on the anastomosis and its tension.
