FIELD: construction materials.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing fly ash from coal power plants in order to ensure transportation of a product from fly ash without dust by any vehicle, as well as for use as fillers for mortars, concrete, or artificial stones. The method of producing granulate - a filler for mortars, concrete, or artificial stones, from fine fly ash includes formation of fly ash granules in a plate granulator using liquid glass and the process of increasing their strength. In this case, sodium liquid glass with a density of 1.36-1.5 g/cm3 is used. Formation of granules is carried out in the said granulator, where sodium liquid glass, diluted with water, is dosed into the rotating mass of fly ash at the following ratio of components, wt.%: the specified sodium liquid glass – 50, water – 50, which ensures absorption of 2.88 g of fly ash by 1 g of sodium liquid glass per 1 day. The granules are spherical in shape with a diameter of 6 to 20 mm. The curing process is carried out at a temperature of 22°C.

EFFECT: simplification of the manufacturing process and reduction of costs for producing durable and abrasion-resistant granulate from fine fly ash of thermal power plants without heat treatment.
