FIELD: packaging equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns an apparatus and a method for wrapping film around an object. The apparatus includes a device capable of being charged by an electrostatic charge and capable of transferring an electrostatic charge to a portion of the film exiting the carriage. This makes it easier to attach the end piece of film around the object to be wrapped. During dispensing, the end flap of film remains extended beyond the carriage, and as soon as it encounters the object to be wrapped, it is immediately fixed to it by gravity. The rotation is then engaged to wrap the film around the object.
EFFECT: invention provides an apparatus for facilitating the securing of an end flap of film around an object as the flap exits the film carriage to provide a simple and economical system for dispensing film and securing it around an object to be wrapped, without requiring operator intervention.
