FIELD: gas processing industry.

SUBSTANCE: used for liquefying natural gas, mainly in small-scale production plants. The method for liquefying natural gas includes supplying natural gas to a source gas compressor, compressing the gas to form a process flow, cooling, drying, throttling, separation, followed by separation into liquid and vapor phases. The liquid phase of the process flow is regasified and removed to the power plant, and a process return flow is formed from the vapor phase, which is sent as a coolant through the inter-tube space of counterflow heat exchangers to a purified gas compressor and is compressed to form a product flow. The product flow is cleaned, cooled, throttled, separated, followed by separation into liquid and vapor phases. The liquid phase of the product flow is fed into a cryogenic storage tank, and a return product flow is formed from the vapor phase of the product flow, which is mixed with the return process flow.

EFFECT: increase in the liquefaction coefficient of natural gas in the cycle, the possibility of involving lower purity source gas in the liquefaction process, as well as improved environmental performance.
