FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: production of aluminum-based alloys containing refractory alloying elements whose melting point exceeds 1500°C. The method involves dissolving alloys of refractory metals in a superheated molten aluminum, while the introduction of alloys of refractory metals is carried out before overheating the molten aluminum to 1000οC, after reaching this temperature, the melt is stirred at intervals of 15-20 minutes for 1-5 hours, cooling to the casting temperature.
EFFECT: increasing the rate of dissolution and assimilation of refractory elements or their compounds, reducing the total melting time, and eliminating the presence of large undissolved unwanted inclusions of refractory elements or their compounds, which worsen the mechanical and corrosion properties, in the finished ingot.
