FIELD: medicine, dentistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for use in the treatment of chronic forms of pulpitis in patients who have had COVID-19, in the presence of yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida in the microflora of the root canals of the tooth. The treatment is carried out in two stages. At the first stage, mechanical and medicinal treatment of the carious cavity and root canals is performed. A bacterioscopy of the removed contents of the root canals is performed. A temporary exposure of a suspension of 50 mg of Fluconazole mixed with 1 ml of water for injection is injected into the root canals on a paper pin, the mouth of the canal is closed with a cotton ball, then the tooth cavity is hermetically sealed with a temporary filling made of impermeable material, the exposure of the drug is carried out depending on the anatomical structure root canal system for 1–3 days and prescribe Fluconazole orally at a dose of 150 mg on the first day. After an appropriate period of time, the second stage of endodontic treatment is carried out, where, in the absence of exudate or odor in the root canal, mechanical and medicinal treatment is carried out, followed by filling of the root canals using sealers and gutta-percha pins, after which the coronal part of the tooth is restored with a permanent filling or an appropriate orthopedic design.
EFFECT: by introducing the local effect of Fluconazole on the microflora of the root canal in order to suppress the growth and vital activity of its mycotic component, as well as taking the drug orally the method can reduce the risks of delayed complications in the form of inflammation of the periapical tissues of the tooth and the need for patients to undergo repeated endodontic treatment of root canals.
