METHOD OF PREDICTING RELAPSE OF BACTERIAL VAGINOSIS IN WOMEN INFECTED WITH HERPES VIRUSES Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC G01N33/68

Abstract RU 2810428 C1

FIELD: medicine; gynecology.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict the relapse of bacterial vaginosis in women infected with herpes viruses. In women infected with herpes viruses, after treatment for an episode of bacterial vaginosis, vaginal contents are collected. Next, the concentration of the cytokine IL-4 in the vaginal contents is determined. If the concentration of the cytokine IL-4 in the vaginal contents is determined in the range from 60 to 79 pg/ml, then the probability of developing a relapse of bacterial vaginosis is from 50 to 80% within 6 months after treatment. If the concentration of the cytokine IL-4 in the vaginal contents is determined in the range of 95 pg/ml or more, then the probability of developing a relapse of bacterial vaginosis is 80% or higher within 6 months after treatment.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to predict the recurrence of bacterial vaginosis in women infected with herpes viruses by determining the concentration of the cytokine IL-4 in the vaginal contents after treatment of an episode of bacterial vaginosis.
