SUBSTANCE: steelmaking production of a mixer for storing and averaging cast iron by chemical composition and temperature. The mixer contains a neck, an internal space, a nose, a metal body lined with refractory materials consisting of a heat-insulating layer, a reinforcing layer, a working layer of refractory lining, a hearth, a rear wall, side walls, a front wall, and side walls of the nose on which the roof rests, slag belt of the rear wall, slag belt of the side walls, vault shelves on which the vault is supported. The width of the nose 3 at the top of the side walls of the nose 12 from the side of the internal space 2 and the front wall 11 is determined by the formula taking into account a constant coefficient equal to 0.6-0.9.

EFFECT: increasing the durability of the refractory lining of stationary mixers and reducing the cost of equipment repairs.
