FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a double-bath reverberatory furnace for remelting aluminium scrap. The furnace comprises a body formed by fire-resistant external side, front and back end walls, two storage baths and two inclined platforms defined by the hearth and the walls, two roofs above each bath, four drainage tapholes, four rotary lined bowls with welded lined chutes, a flue, and a welded frame whereon everything is placed. The frame is placed on a pedestal and is lined inside with two rows of light-weight one-and-a-half bricks of the ShL-0.4 grade with three layers of MKRK-500 mullite silica cardboard under each hearth bottom and two rows of light-weight one-and-a-half ShL-0.4 bricks with six layers of MKRK-500 mullite silica cardboard under each inclined platform, wherein the welded frame is filled with concrete with an asbestos chip filler. A steel box is welded to the furnace frame, with heat insulation between said box and each wall, consisting of fire-resistant wool, fire-resistant mats, diatomite chips, and a layer of MKRK-500 mullite silica cardboard. Two storage baths and two inclined platforms are made of KS-95 corundum blocks laid over three layers of MKRK-500 mullite silica cardboard with padding consisting of dry sand mixed with asbestos chips. The furnace roofs have thermal insulation consisting of a triple layer of fire-resistant heat-insulating MKRV-250 mullite silica chromium-containing felt, covered with two layers of light-weight bricks ShL-0.4 and a layer of MKRK-500 mullite-silica cardboard. In each side wall, the furnace has two high-pressure injection burners with twenty-one mixers, directed at an angle of 30 degrees to the inclined platform and the hearth bottom and at an angle of 15 degrees to the axis of the furnace, and two injection burners with twenty-one mixers, placed in the back wall and directed at an angle of 45 degrees to the hearth bottoms, wherein the five central mixers with attachments have a 3.2 meter torch during burning, and the sixteen peripheral mixers without attachments allow for a 2.3 meter torch during burning. Four working windows are made in the front end wall and in the side walls, wherein two of said windows can act as slag windows equipped with hydraulic drives for lifting and lowering the working dampers of the furnace, four tapholes are located in the back end wall, wherein the furnace is provided with four lined rotary bowls with lined rotary chutes welded thereto, configured to rotate in the process of casting liquid metal. The furnace is made with an economiser and configured to operate on natural and artificial traction with a dust and gas purification system.

EFFECT: high productivity of the furnace, reduction in the heat and melting losses, and a possibility of environmentally sustainable remelting of aluminium scrap are provided.
