FIELD: catalytic chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: catalyst has been proposed for the process of ortho-para conversion of hydrogen, including 2,5-digdroxy-1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid and paramagnetic metal ions, having a specific surface of 450-1750 m2 /g, particle size in the range from 0.1 µm to 2 µm, average pore diameter 0.6-2.0 nm and containing from 3 µmol to 6.6 mmol/g paramagnetic metal ions. A method for ortho-para conversion of hydrogen in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst is also proposed.
EFFECT: increase in the specific rate of ortho-para conversion of catalyst hydrogen and an increase in the energy efficiency of hydrogen liquefaction.
