SUBSTANCE: invention is a method of propagating potato tubers ex vivo, including isolating the tubers from light, characterized by the following: the use tubers freed from viral and bacterial infections obtained in vitro, stimulation of the physiological activity of the apical meristem of the buds of the eyes and the lateral meristem of the sprouts of the tubers, keeping the tubers in air environment with air humidity of 90–95% with cyclical variable temperature, fluctuations of which range from 12–15°C to 21–25°C, and the cycle is 24 hours, the temperature range is 12–15°C is maintained continuously for 6–7 hours, and the range is 21–25°C is maintained continuously for 17–18 hours, when at least one root tubercle and/or at least one adventitious root appears on the sprouts, the variable temperature regime is changed to constant with parameters in the range of 18–22°C, the sprouts are alienated from the tuber body by breaking off the sprout at the base of its basal part without the use of any cutting tools, and the alienation of the sprouts is continued until the complete cessation of the functioning of the apical meristematic tissue in the buds of the eyes of the mother tuber; the resulting sprouts are placed in a substrate, which is used as peat or mineral soil, or nutritious soil for growing vegetable and flower crops.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to accelerate the reproduction of potato tubers.
