SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a heterogeneous gel-like composition for topical use with an antimicrobial effect based on collagen and chitosan, characterized by containing the following components, wt.%: 2.00 of chitosan, 1.00 of collagen, 0.72 of citric acid, 1.00 of silver nitrate, 0.55 of glutaraldehyde, 94.73 of distilled water, and also refers to a method of producing a heterogeneous gel-like composition, including the preparation of two stocks-solutions, characterized by the following: a solution of chitosan, collagen and citric acid, as well as a solution of silver nitrate and glutaraldehyde are prepared separately, which are mixed before use in a 1:1 ratio by weight and kept for 2–4 hours at a temperature of 0–4°C.

EFFECT: group of inventions ensures the preservation of antimicrobial activity and mechanical properties of the composition without the use of any electrochemical methods.
