FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: method of performing an immunofluorescence reaction for diagnosing leukemia in cattle is described. The method includes the stages of collecting blood samples, preparing smears from a cell suspension of lymphocytes isolated from the blood by centrifugation on a density gradient of a radiopaque substance. To perform an immunofluorescence reaction, diagnostic fluorescent immunoglobulins are used in a titer of 1:640–1:1280 against VLCRS, obtained from the blood serum of a sick cow in a clinical-hematological form, inactivated at 56°C for 30 minutes, followed by isolation of the globulin fraction by salting out in a saturated ammonium sulfate solution with purification by centrifugation and gel filtration on a Sephadex G-25 column, labeled with fluorescein 5-isothiocyanate in a working dilution of 1:20.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to identify the VLCRS virus in the early stages of disease development and helps to reduce the time of the study.
