FIELD: veterinary medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sanitary examination of meat and offal of cattle. A method of post-mortem diagnosis of bovine leukemia using enzyme immunoassay involves sampling swabs from animal carcasses or offal using cotton swabs by making incisions in the carcasses and organs of post-mortem animals with sterile scalpels, placing swabs with swabs in test tubes, adding to samples, depending on the size of the swabs, 0.1–0.2 ml of distilled water and leaving for 1.5–2 hours. The resulting homogeneous substrate from the test tube is used for enzyme immunoassay to detect specific antibodies to the gp51 antigen of the bovine leukemia virus.
EFFECT: proposed method detects specific antibodies found in muscle tissue fluid (plasma and lymph) to the gp51 antigen of the bovine leukemia virus (BLV) in the shortest possible time (3–5 hours).
