FIELD: musical instruments.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to Russian folk stringed musical instruments from the zither or lyre family, which is a resonator body with 5 to 20 strings stretched over it, and usually forming a diatonic scale. The gusli consists of a hollow body with a soundboard equipped with a resonator hole and two sets of differently tuned strings, and the sets of strings are placed one above the other at an angle equal to or close to 90 degrees; in the vertical plane, the strings of the lower set are located on different heights, forming an ascending or descending line to a horizontal row of strings of the upper set, and when pressing the strings of the upper set with the fingers of the hand, they come into contact with the strings of the lower set, leading to shortening of the sounding part of the strings of the upper set and modulation of a new note or derivative note.
