FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method for passive determination of coordinates of a moving weak radiation source relates to hydroacoustics and can be used in passive sonar in a radiation area of a source with a circular (spherical, cylindrical) wave front, as well as in atmospheric acoustics and passive radar. For passive determination of coordinates of a radiation source, wide-aperture receiving systems are used from M ≥ 3 spatially spaced apart antennas arranged in space in a known manner. Proposed method comprises receiving radiation source signals by M antennas, M ≥ 3 arranged in space in a known manner, preliminary processing in reception channels, possibility of observing signal marks of radiation sources in a given sector of angles and range of distances, including guidance to point of supposed location of weak source - reference point (RT) and cyclic measurement of coordinates, including correction of coordinates of RT on subsequent cycles of measurements, and phasing of all antennae in directions from their centres to current coordinates of RT αfromj, Dfromj. To determine the current position count measured value deviations δαj, δDj coordinates away from the desired current coordinates of the source αs(tj), Ds(tj), δαδα for which the measure for each ith cycle PD pairwise power spectra density (PPSD) and obtaining on each frequency ƒk of the elements table of the PPSD the output signals of all antenna pairs, averaging the elements thereof and applying a matrix inversion transformation thereto, obtaining new tables of inverted measurements, and deviation values δαj, δDj are determined using summation at each frequency of elements of said tables, first by index mn (m, n = 1, … , M) with compensation of differences of propagation times of signal to centers of mth and nth antennas τmni and weight coefficients for direction and range taking into account the geometry of the system <PS-source>, then summing up by the index k (by frequency), correcting αop, Dopj by value δαj, δDj respectively, and current estimates of coordinates of radiation source , at moment t j and prediction of reference values αop(j+1), Dop(j+1) to next (j+1)th step are determined by results of dynamic smoothing sequences of coordinates estimates.
EFFECT: task of the proposed method is passive determination of coordinates of a moving weak source in a mixed anisotropic field of interference, which contains a scattered background component, as well as coherent components caused by other interfering sources of radiation.
