SUBSTANCE: well completion process used to seal annular gaps between pipes. In this case, the combined seal consists of a body with a stop, a gripper, crackers, a lock, rod elements and a sealing element, which is a non-metallic seal, closed on both sides by plates so that the edges of the plates are bent and directed towards each other, elements are located in the body of the non-metallic seal having a wedge-shaped cross-section, one surface of which interacts with the plate, and the other is wedge-shaped, with a non-metallic seal. The method consists in lowering the combined seal until it rests on the protrusion on the casing suspension and applying an axial force, as a result of which, when the load is applied to the plates, at least one element having a wedge-shaped cross-section moves, and the layers of the elastic non-metallic seal move, providing an increase in the contact area of the outer surface of the non-metallic seal with the surface of the pipes forming the interpipe space. In this case, the trays begin to open under the influence of increasing pressure from the layers of non-metallic seal and increased stress is created in areas close to the trays, forming additional seal contours, thereby sealing the annulus.

EFFECT: increase in the reliability of sealing the annulus under conditions of increased environmental pressure in an underwater well, a simplification of the design of the combined seal, and easier dismantling of the combined seal during repair or routine maintenance work during well maintenance. In particular, a method is claimed for sealing the annulus space in a well, in which a combined seal is used to seal the annulus space.
