FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: conical spiral ball transmission consists of parallel driven shaft-cones with oppositely directed apexes with semicircular grooves cut on the side surfaces parallel to the generatrices of the cones. The transmission also includes a drive shaft with semicircular profile splines with a radius similar to the grooves, along which, positioned at any point along its axis, the mating satellite moves with the help of a screw. The satellite is made in the form of a ball bearing cage with retained balls with a radius corresponding to the radii of the grooves and splines.
EFFECT: improved operating accuracy, increased efficiency and transmission life are ensured.
