FIELD: pipeline engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pipeline fittings and is intended to control the flow of a working medium in pipelines of predominantly high pressure at high flow rates of the medium as a shut-off or Kingston-type shut-off and control valve. The valve contains a body with inlet and outlet pipes and a sealing seat, a shut-off element interacting with the seat, mounted on the rod and made in the form of a cylinder with an internal passage channel located between the blind ends and having the ability to communicate the internal cavities of the inlet and outlet pipes with each other through the passages windows in the side wall of the cylinder, wherein the blind end of the lower part of the internal channel of the cylinder of the shut-off member on the side of the sealing seat is made with a conical streamlined protrusion, and the upper part of the internal channel of the cylinder is made with an outlet hole, and the surface of the internal passage channel of the cylinder from the side of the outlet pipe has a spherical surface. On the outer surface of the cylinder there are two guide belts spaced apart along the height of the locking element.
EFFECT: improved hydraulic performance and increased degree of tightness of the valve.
