FIELD: mining industry.
SUBSTANCE: used primarily in the development of alluvial clay deposits by open-pit mining. The method for preparing clay sands for disintegration includes mechanical loosening of the sand massif through alternate parallel runs of the ripper and their excavation. After excavation, the loosened clay sands are stored in dumps parallel to the ripper runs, with subsequent transportation to the receiving hopper of the industrial device during the next washing season. In this case, each subsequent dumping should not overlap the previous one, and the maximum sand excavation capacity is determined by the formula: hex = 0.25⋅bex⋅tgα/cl, m, where bex is the width of the excavation layer, m;α is the angle of dumping of loosened sands, degrees; cl is the coefficient of loosening of sand dump.
EFFECT: increasing the degree of extraction of valuable components from clayey sands during the disintegration process by reducing the strength properties of the clay.
