FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to deformation processing of a prism of a high-pressure fuel pump, designed to be assembled with a plain bearing by pressing. Preliminary installation of the prism on the expanding mandrels is carried out. They provide a mechanical effect on the expanding mandrels with the creation of an expansion force to deform the surface being processed. The surface to be treated is deformed by bending it by the amount of deformation of the prism after assembly with the sliding bearing and in the direction opposite to the direction of subsequent bending of this surface under the influence of the pressed-in sliding bearing. The processed surface of the prism is held in the said deformed state by expanding mandrels using rigid stops during its deformation by bending and the allowance is removed.

EFFECT: improved reliability of the high pressure fuel pump.
