FIELD: containers.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to containers for storing food products. The metal easy-to-open end cap of the can has a notch defining a removable panel and a tab located in the edge area of the panel to allow the panel to be removed in the direction of the tear. The panel has at least one convex and/or concave edge extending in the tear direction from a position or positions proximal to said tongue to a position or positions proximal to the end of the panel opposite the edge region. The rib or ribs have a maximum depth or height of at least 0.6 mm relative to surrounding areas of the panel along at least part of the extent of the rib. The rib or each rib has a longitudinally inclined portion such that the minimum depth or height of the rib is at the end of the rib or each rib proximal to the tongue. A method for making said can end cap includes forming a convex or concave ridge or ribs before forming said cut.
EFFECT: easier opening of the jar lid.
