METHOD OF ENSURING FIRE SAFETY OF DIVING AND MEDICAL PRESSURE CHAMBERS Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A62C2/04 A62C3/10 A61G10/02 A62C3/06

Abstract RU 2811827 C1

FIELD: fire safety.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of diving medicine and the field of technologies for ensuring fire safety of diving and multi-person medical pressure chambers. To ensure the fire safety of diving and medical pressure chambers using a non-flammable gas environment and monitoring its parameters during the treatment of decompression sickness using the method of therapeutic recompression, patients breathe from a mask of a stationary breathing system with an oxygen-helium mixture containing 30 vol.% oxygen, the rest is helium. After sealing, the pressure in the pressure chamber is increased to 0.6 MPa by compression with a gas mixture containing 45 vol.% nitrogen and 55 vol.% sulfur haxafluoride. The supplied mixture is mixed with pressure chamber air while the patient is breathing the same mixture, maintaining the partial pressure of oxygen in the gas environment at 19–21 kPa, and the oxygen concentration at the level of 3.5 vol.%, at which combustion is not fully supported. The invention makes it possible to ensure the fire safety of the pressure chamber when carrying out therapeutic recompression for divers and other categories of people with decompression sickness in emergency situations.

EFFECT: creation of the specified artificial gas environment in the pressure chamber ensures the preservation of conditions for the normal life of medical workers providing resuscitation measures for severe decompression sickness, due to the maintenance of pO2 in the pressure chamber environment at a non-hypoxic level.
