FIELD: active safety systems for vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of operation of active safety systems for vehicles. According to the method for preventing wheel drift and skidding by the driver assistance system of a road train, the signals generated by pulse wheel speed sensors separately in the subsystems for preventing wheel drift and skidding of both the vehicle and the trailer are registered, processed and transmitted through the interface blocks of the vehicle and trailer rollover prevention subsystems into information processing blocks of the vehicle and trailer subsystems, in which the values of physical variables are determined - the speed of the centre of mass and the angles of rotation of the steered wheels of the vehicle and trailer, respectively, and the estimates of the maximum values of the wheel sliding friction coefficients, the limit values of the skid and drift speeds of the wheels of the vehicle and trailer are generated. Also the occurrence of drift or skidding of their wheels is predicted, and then compared with the boundary values characterizing the critical state of the vehicle and trailer separately.
EFFECT: prevention of wheel drift and drift by a driver assistance system of a road train consisting of a vehicle and a trailer.
