FIELD: aerospace industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and means of protecting a spacecraft (SC) from collisions with space objects or weapons. A method for correcting the trajectory of a dangerous space object by means of a space control system carries out preliminary detection of a dangerous object. Next, data on the predicted area of dangerous approach is transmitted on board the controlled spacecraft, and the parameters of the relative motion of the dangerous space object are specified. To correct the trajectory of a dangerous space object, a small spacecraft (SSC) and onboard space radar equipment are placed on the spacecraft. To clarify the parameters of the relative motion of an object, space radar ranging is carried out. If there is a section of dangerous approach, the small spacecraft is separated from the spacecraft, orbital manoeuvring of the small spacecraft, rendezvous and capture of the detected object is performed. Next, the small spacecraft's jet propulsion system is turned on, the trajectory of the dangerous object is changed, and the spacecraft is protected from collision.
EFFECT: reduction in the cost of spacecraft energy resources required for radar scanning, and an increase in the probability of a small spacecraft capturing a dangerous object.
