FIELD: hydrocarbon processing.
SUBSTANCE: method for converting hydrocarbon feedstocks into light olefins with carbon atoms C2-C4 in the presence of a catalytic system, in which hydrocarbon feedstock is cracked in the temperature range from 550 to 650°C at weight hourly space velocity (WHSV) ranging from 100 to 300 h-1 and a pressure ranging from 1 to 4 kg/cm2 g in a concentric downflow reactor, wherein the hydrocarbon feedstock includes a feedstock selected from the group consisting of C4 residual hydrocarbons and a vacuum residue, hydrotreated vacuum gas oil (HVG), the bottom product of a hydrocracking unit, while the catalytic system consists of 7-10 wt.% ultra-stable zeolite type Y; 4-8 wt.% shape-selective zeolite type pentasil; 2.5-5 wt.% bottom selective material, where the bottom selective material is mesoporous acidic alumina; 0.5-2 wt.% rare earth metals; and 75-88 wt.% base material; wherein the ratio of catalyst to hydrocarbons is 25-40 w/w, and wherein recycling from 0 to 50% of the products from the concentric downflow reactor generates up to 65 wt.% of fresh hydrocarbon feedstock in the form of light olefins of C2-C4 carbons.
EFFECT: high yield of light olefins, high selectivity for light olefins.
