FIELD: noise reduction.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended to suppress acoustic noise propagating through gas inside a gas pipeline. The device for suppressing acoustic noise comprises inlet and outlet sections of the pipeline, equipped with flanges at the edges for connection to a gas pipeline break. Between the inlet and outlet sections there are at least three rotating sections of the pipeline, connected in series at an angle of 90°. The output ends of the input and turning sections are equipped with corner reflectors of acoustic waves.
EFFECT: operability of ultrasonic flow meters is ensured in conditions of powerful acoustic interference propagating through the gas inside the pipe, due to the suppression of acoustic noise at the input of the ultrasonic gas flow meter in the frequency range of 80 kHz÷120 kHz by more than 30 dB.
