FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: surgical treatment of retinal detachment combined with a macular hole is carried out, while the volume of perfluoroorganic compound (V) in ml for introduction into the vitreal cavity is calculated depending on the diameter of the macular hole according to the formula where d is the diameter of the macular hole in microns.
EFFECT: method of calculating the minimum volume of PFOS for administration into the vitreal cavity allows for careful and safe surgical treatment of vitreoretinal pathology with minimal trauma, fixation of the retina for a sufficient time, reducing the number of postoperative complications, and maintaining anatomical and topographic relationships in the eye.
