FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: methods for chemicothermal treatment of parts made of aluminium alloys, used in mechanical engineering for surface hardening of machine parts. The method of ion nitriding of an aluminium alloy part includes preliminary cleaning of the surface of the part, placing the part in the working chamber, activating the surface of the part before ion nitriding, supplying a working saturating medium to the chamber, heating the part to the nitriding temperature and holding at this temperature until the required thickness of the nitrided layer is formed, whereas the surface of the part is activate before nitriding in two stages, at the first stage the part is processed in the plasma of an induction high-frequency discharge in an argon environment at a negative bias voltage on the product in the range from 400 V to 600 V, and then the second stage of activation includes ion-implantation treatment of the surface of a part with nitrogen ions at an ion energy of 20 keV to 30 keV and an irradiation dose of 1.2⋅1016 cm-2 to 4.0⋅1016 cm-2.
EFFECT: increased wear resistance of the nitrided layer of parts made of aluminium alloys.
