SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an assembly formed by an adapter and a wearing element, as well as to methods of designing and manufacturing an adapter for supporting a wearing element of a bucket of an excavation machine. Wearing element is adapted for installation on an excavation machine bucket adapter, has a front part adapted for cutting into the moved soil, and a rear part with a cavity adapted to accommodate a front part of said adapter. Wearing element defines a longitudinal axis X, has at least one through hole on one side of said cavity, adapted to accommodate a pin, adapted to hold the wearing element on the adapter. Pin has a predetermined position relative to the said through hole and has a longitudinal axis defining the Z axis. X axis and the Z axis define the XZ plane and the direction perpendicular to the XZ plane defining the Y axis, and the X and Y axes define the XY plane. Wearing element has at least one front upper support surface, at least one rear upper support surface, at least one front lower support surface and at least one rear lower support surface, wherein the upper support surfaces and the lower support surfaces are symmetrical to each other with respect to the XZ plane.
