LIQUID LENS, PROVIDED CONTACT LENS AND INTRAOCULAR DEVICE Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC G02B3/14 G02C7/08 A61F2/16

Abstract RU 2813451 C1

FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to optical elements with variable characteristics, namely, to liquid lenses with variable optical power and contact lenses with extended functional capabilities, which are equipped with such liquid lenses. Liquid lens is made in form of capsule containing control electrodes, immiscible first liquid medium with refraction index n1 and second liquid medium with refraction index n2 such that n2 > n1. One of said liquid media is configured to control the electromagnetic field by means of said electrodes. Second liquid medium is a colloidal system formed by a liquid and solid highly refractive nanoparticles, which refraction index is higher than the refraction index of said liquid. Contact lens provided with the liquid lens described above, according to the first version, enables to realize the zoom function, according to the second version, when used together with the microdisplay, the AR/VR/XR mode, according to the third version, when combined with light-emitting diodes—a function of preventing and treating myopia.

EFFECT: invention enables to expand the scope of possible use of such a liquid lens by increasing the range of achievable optical power; intraocular device equipped with the liquid lens described above allows replacing the lens of the user’s eye and has expanded functionality.
