FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: ophthalmic lens for at least one of the inhibition, containment or prevention of myopia progression contains: the first zone in the ophthalmic lens center; and a peripheral zone that surrounds the central zone and has an optical force that is different from the central zone optical force; and an opaque mask extending from the peripheral region while providing a lens power profile ensuring a foveal vision correction substantially equivalent to a single focal lens correction and having focusing depth and reduced sensitivity of image quality on the retina inhibiting, containing or preventing myopia progression. At that, lens design with an opaque mask can be described as follows: , r<rMASK (1), where P is the optical force (dptr); r is the radial distance from the geometric center of the lens; SA is the value of spherical aberration; and PSeg(r) represents a step function having a plurality of zones of various sizes, or as follows: , r<rMASK (2), where P is the optical force (dptr); r is the radial distance from the geometric center of the lens; SA is the value of spherical aberration; and PPCHIP(r) represents a piecewise cubic curve of the interpolation Hermite polynomial.
EFFECT: improved correction of foveal vision, increased depth of focus and improved image on the retina in the range of accommodative distances.
