SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for monitoring the operation of a car generator, battery and electric starter. Method for on-board monitoring of the condition of the power supply system and vehicle starting is based on measuring current values of currents, voltages and temperatures, as well as calculating the calculated parameters of the technical condition of a car generator, starter battery and electric starter. The following are accepted as the design parameters that determine the condition of the power supply and starting system: the level of functioning of the starter battery, the level of operability of the automobile generator and the level of operability of the electric starter, then the condition of the units of the power supply and starting system is determined and a conclusion is formed whether further operation is possible or they must be replaced.

EFFECT: ability to determine the suitability of a starter battery for further operation, the ability of a car generator to charge a battery, as well as a reduction in the starting capability of an electric starter based on the operational calculation of the degree of performance of these units.
