FIELD: diagnostic equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to diagnostic equipment; it can be used for diagnostics of a technical condition of car starter accumulator batteries. Voltage on the battery is measured before and during the start of an internal combustion engine. Determination of serviceability of the starter accumulator battery is performed based on calculation of a state of functioning, taking into account the current value of a state of charging and an electrolyte temperature, and with issuing recommendations for further operation. The state of functioning (hereinafter – SOF) is calculated according to the empirical formula:

where SOF is a state of functioning, is the current value of voltage at outputs of the accumulator battery, B; is the maximum value of voltage, corresponding to the fully charged accumulator battery, B; Ucr is the minimum voltage during the start of the internal combustion engine, B; t is the current electrolyte temperature, °C; α, β, γ, δ are empirical coefficients with values of α=6, β=1.115, γ=0.035, δ=10-4.

EFFECT: possibility of reliable determination of serviceability of a starter accumulator battery, using assessment of output voltage.
