FIELD: measurement.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protection of surfaces of industrial equipment against aggressive media during storage of liquids, including products of oil, chemical and other industries. Kits for protecting the surface of vertical tanks from the effect of a chemically aggressive medium during operation includes polymer soft single-layer insert (4) distributed over the inner surface of tank (3), a set of strain gauges (2) and a set of polymer control elements (1). Method of checking integrity of polymer soft single-layer inserts using a surface protection kit includes mounting strain gauges (2) along the circumference of the bottom of vertical tank (3) in places accessible for taking readings, attaching one end of each of polymer control elements (1) to corresponding strain gauge (2), and the other end to the bottom of vertical tank (3), fastening the formed polymer soft single-layer insert (4) along the circumference of the bottom of vertical tank (3) and along the perimeter of the surfaces of the inner side wall and the bottom of vertical tank (3) and control of change of values of tension force of polymer control elements (1) during operation of vertical tank (3).

EFFECT: invention reduces time of leak detection.
