FIELD: pulp and paper industry; wood chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: method for producing neutral substances. A method is described that includes separation of neutral substances from sulphate soap with ether, washing the ethereal solution with an aqueous solution of alkali, water, evaporation of the solvent, adsorption chromatography on a polar sorbent using a mixture of a hydrocarbon solvent and a more polar solvent as an eluent, while methyl-tert-butyl ether is used for extraction, separation of the extract and the raffinate is carried out by cooling at a temperature of 5-15°C, removal of sulphur-containing compounds is carried out by steam distillation; as a result of chromatography, in addition to squalene and betulaprenols, a fraction of sterols and triterpenoids is obtained containing β-sitosterol, citrastadienol, stigmastanol, lanosta-7,24-diene-3-ol, 24-methylenecycloartanol, betulin.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of the method for processing neutral substances obtained from low-quality hardwood sulphate soap.
