FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to paediatric surgery, can be used for formation of neoumbilicus in delayed plasty of anterior abdominal wall in children born with gastroschisis and omphalocele. Muscular-aponeurotic and skin flaps are separated; only layers of the muscular-aponeurotic flap are closed with separate interrupted sutures. Excess skin is cut off. Remaining skin flap serves as a base for formation of a neoumbilicus. Skin is cut off at 1/3 of the height of the elliptic cylinder of the skin flap and sutured in height with separate interrupted sutures. Skin flap is sutured with an intradermal suture. Neoumbilicus is formed by passing a suture through an aponeurosis in the centre of a neoumbilicus base, then the suture is passed through an upper edge of the neoumbilicus. Purse-string intradermal suture is made along the perimeter of the neoumbilicus, and the prick-out is performed in the place of the first prick-in, and the edges of the neoumbilicus are tightened.

EFFECT: method enables to achieve an aesthetically correct shape of the umbilicus with minimally visible scars, and also to reduce the surgical injury rate, does not require additional incisions, enables to reduce the probability of postoperative complications.
