FIELD: various technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for producing fresh water from water vapours contained in ambient air. Device contains an open-top container immersed into a water body with sea water so that its walls extend beyond the water surface. Inside the container there is a through channel for sea water flow, located between two opposite walls of the container and arranged so that one end of the channel is located at the water surface, and the other one is lower with an inclination within range of 20–45°. Cross-section of the channel has the shape of a triangle, the base of which faces the bottom of the container, and the top faces the surface of the water body. Length of the triangle base is less than the width of the container in the direction perpendicular to the arrangement of the channel. Angle between lateral edges of triangle lies within 90–140°. In the immediate vicinity of the above end of the channel in the sea water there is a wave energy converter fixed from the outside to the side surface of the container by means of a fastening device. Container is located at the surface of the water body by floats. Upper edge of the container is equipped with visors facing the centre of the container at an angle to the horizontal plane. Above the channel there is a solar collector fixed on the side surfaces of the container, having through holes in the vertical direction, which is located so that there is an air gap between its lower surface and the upper surface of the channel. In addition to the through channel for the flow of sea water under it in the same way as it is, additional channels similar in shape and size, in number from three to five, are made, arranged one above the other at distance of 10 to 15 cm from the lower surface of the previous one to the top of the next one. Distance from the lower surface of the lower channel for sea water flow to the lower surface of the container is not less than half of its height. Wave energy converter is equipped with a device providing sea water pressure in all channels for sea water flow.
EFFECT: increased area of condensation of the device and increased volume of produced fresh water.
