SUBSTANCE: present technical solution relates to the field of computing technology for navigation. The technical result is achieved by means of a system for identifying a grid for a geofence in an area on the map, configured to identify grids for a geofence in an area on the map including multiple independently indexed grid areas, containing a data carrier storing a map and a set of instructions for identifying a geographical area; a processor interacting with the data carrier, uploading part of the map into a caching scheme, generating a representation of a part of the map, receiving information on the geofence of a geographical area on the map, determining the sequence of the boundary grid of the geofence, identifying a closed area in the geofence, segmenting the closed area so that each sub-area is located only in one section of the multiple sections, defining the boundary grids for the sub-areas, identifying the internal grids in the sub-area, identifying the grids in the geographical area by collecting the boundary grids of sub-areas and the internal grids in the sub-areas.
EFFECT: increase in the speed of identification of the grid of a geographical area on the map of the current user with the granted access to information attributed to the grid.
