FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar and can be used for testing radar stations for various purposes in laboratory conditions. In the disclosed method, an electromagnetic field is generated on the antenna aperture of the investigated device, corresponding to reflections from a volumetric-distributed object, taking into account the relative position and motion parameters of the radar carrier, and simulated object, its reflecting capacity, properties of shape and speed of its constituent parts, angular noise in real time. Required characteristics of the electromagnetic field are provided by the formation of four correlated signals at the operating frequency of the radar, supplied to four fixed radiators located at the vertices of the rectangle, with given spectral properties, auto- and cross-correlation functions, which sum is the echo signal from the object being replaced, and their powers and cross-correlation coefficients are set based on the parameters of the probing pulse of the radar station, properties of the replaced object and distribution of angular noise for two angular coordinates.

EFFECT: reduced number of radiators in the system, which forms reflections from distributed radar objects in real time, and wider range of possible geometrical configurations of simulated objects.
