FIELD: measurement technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement technology, in particular to determination of resistance to cutting of snow-ice formations and frozen soils with a disk cutting device. Method includes preparation of samples from natural environment, which are held in freezing chamber. Measurements of horizontal, vertical, lateral components of cutting resistance and torque are carried out in a freezing chamber using two test benches. One of them is measuring in static position, equipped with disk, drive of rotation and strain gauges, fixing components of resistance to cutting of samples, and the second test bench provides movement of specimen rigidly fixed on it towards rotating disk. Recording and processing of values of components of resistance to cutting and torque is carried out using software, optimum parameters of the cutting process are determined based on the graphical relationships constructed on the basis of the obtained data.

EFFECT: broader functional capabilities and high information content of the method for determining components of resistance to cutting of snow-ice formations and frozen soils.
