FIELD: transport machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive industry and can be used to control vehicle wheel alignment angles. When implementing the method, a builder and a mirror are installed to the left and to the right of the vehicle, and an insert is installed in the plane of the wheel. A builder is switched on, the beams of which form a vertical frontal plane passing through the point of intersection of the axis of rotation of the wheel with the insert. By changing the position of the mirror in space and moving builder 1 on the support, achieve the formation of single frontal plane by incident beams and reflected beams, respectively, by aligning the planes, which will pass through centres of inserts 11 of left and right like wheels. At that, the reflected beams will fall on the emitter of the builder and the surrounding space, and line 18 is formed on the car body, position of this line can be fixed by marks so that during other control measurements on them the frontal plane can be set without using a mirror or a plumb line. A screen is installed in the profile plane, the emitter is switched on and the position of screen 8 is achieved, at which the line formed by the reflected beams is parallel to the vertical lines of the grid, and the emitter beam will fall into the centre of the insert. As a result, a light point appears on the grid, to which one distance is measured along the vertical, and other distances are measured along the horizontal. Further, the toe-in angle and the camber angle of the wheel are calculated using the formula.
EFFECT: simplified design and improved operational characteristics.
