FIELD: welding.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in contact spot welding of aluminum and its alloys. Method consists in placing between welded surfaces of parts of metal interlayer in form of powdered self-fluxing chromium-nickel alloy with high electrical resistance of “ПГ-СР” grade with total content of Ni and Cr of 70–80%, the rest is C, Si, Mn, B, Fe. Said powder alloy is applied with thickness of up to 0.3 mm on surface of welded part. Taking into account the thickness of the parts, the required diameter of the weld point is determined, on the inner surfaces of the connected parts, annular grooves are formed with a diameter equal to the diameter of the welded point, depth and width from 0.3 to 0.5 mm. Parts are matched so that annular grooves form annular cavity, parts are placed between welding electrodes and operation of contact spot welding is performed. During welding, welded joint is formed between surfaces of parts limited by annular grooves. Molten metal of the interlayer under the action of axial loads is displaced to the periphery of the forming welding point, note here that molten interlayer metal fills the annular cavity formed by annular grooves to crystallize therein to form annular element enveloping the weld point.
EFFECT: higher strength of contact spot welding of aluminum and its alloys.
