SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method and a device for separating a sample of an alloyed mixture containing slag material and a collector material containing gold and/or platinum group metals, using a separator having an impact element made with possibility of rotation around the central axis of the separator. A solid sample of the fused mixture is prepared and loaded into the separator. Slag material is separated from solid specimen of fused mixture by rotation of impact element and introduction of rotary impact element into contact with solid specimen of fused mixture to obtain collector material and slag material. Separation is carried out by specific density using the effect of the gas flow and, optionally, centrifugal forces on the separated slag material to obtain a high-density fraction, mainly containing collector material, and low-density fraction, mainly containing slag material. Slag material is separated from solid sample of fused mixture by rotation of impact element around central axis oriented at angle of 15 to 85 degrees to vertical.
EFFECT: fast and reliable separation of slag from collector material.
