FIELD: weapons and ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: device for loading machine-gun belts includes a housing in which guide slots for the belt are made. Inside the housing, a drum is installed, made with possibility of rotation on an axis fixed in the housing, wherein the drum is pressed to the lever by means of a spring, the lever is made with the possibility of rotation on the axis fixed in the housing and equipped with springs, in the upper part of the housing there is a retainer which is fixed on the axis and is equipped with a spring. In the rear part of the housing there is a handle, the drum and the lever are made with teeth, which form a ratchet mechanism of unilateral action. Method of device operation, when device is taken in hand by handle, empty tape is inserted into housing from side of input, empty link is placed in centre of housing, retainer fixes empty link of tape opposite to lever. Cartridge is inserted by the other hand into the link held by the retainer; the lever is pressed against the stop; simultaneously with the cartridge ramming, the drum moves along the axis in the direction from the lever. Drum turns and draws the belt by one link, at the end of the belt movement the retainer fixes the next link.

EFFECT: ensuring the loading of machine-gun belts in suspension, without the need to secure the device on a hard surface, ease of use, high speed of loading machine-gun belts in the field.
