FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to laboratory diagnostics, and can be used to predict the risk of death in patients with COVID-19. Body weight index, thrombocyte, neutrophil, monocyte, D-dimer, high-sensitivity troponin, procalcitonin, C-reactive protein and ferritin are measured. Thereafter, numerical values are processed by original formula to calculate risk of fatal outcome (P). If P is equal to 0.5 or more, a high risk of fatal outcome is predicted.
EFFECT: method, being minimally invasive and easy to implement, as well as available for outpatient and hospital treatment, allows high accuracy and efficiency of prediction of risk of fatal outcome in elderly and senile patients with COVID-19-associated pneumonia.
