FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to infectious diseases, clinical diagnostics and resuscitation, and can be used for prediction of lethal outcome in SARS-CoV-2-associated pneumonia. Blood ferritin level is determined on the day of hospitalization, neutrophil coefficient reflecting the ratio of stab and segmented neutrophils, and blood oxygen saturation during the period of staying the patient in the anaesthesia-intensive care unit. Taking into account the obtained data, the probability of fatal outcome (p) is calculated by the given formula. If p is more than 50%, high probability of fatal outcome is predicted.
EFFECT: method provides higher survival rate of patients with SARS-CoV-2-associated pneumonia due to improved routing and management of patients with high probability of fatal outcome.
