FIELD: medicine; infectious diseases.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict the risk of death in young patients with COVID-19. At the time of hospitalization, patients undergo a laboratory study, which includes the determination of a set of the following indicators: the index of the ratio of neutrophils to lymphocytes, the index of the ratio of neutrophils to monocytes, neutrophils, C-reactive protein, and procalcitonin. Also, such indicators as the degree of arterial hypertension, body mass index, the presence of sepsis, acute respiratory distress syndrome, and pulmonary embolism are detected. The obtained values are evaluated in points, the points are summed up, and when the result is 5 points or less, a low risk of death is predicted in young patients with coronavirus infection COVID-19, when the result is from 6 to 9 points, the average risk of death is predicted in young patients with coronavirus infection COVID-19, when the result is from 10 points and more, a high risk of death is predicted in young patients with coronavirus infection COVID-19.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to develop measures for more active outpatient management of young patients with COVID-19 and apply more intensive treatment regimens by applying an individualized assessment of the risk of death by assessing the totality of the most significant indicators.
