METHOD OF TRACKING POSITION OF USER'S EYES AND CONTACT LENS (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B3/113 G02C7/04

Abstract RU 2817166 C1

FIELD: optics; personal use items.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of wearable optics, namely to methods for tracking the position of the user's eyes (eye-tracking) and contact lenses, by means of which such a method can be implemented, and can be used in systems for generating augmented, virtual, mixed or extended reality (AR/VR/MR/XR). According to the method of tracking the position of the eyes of a user, a camera is arranged with the possibility of detecting the eyes of the user, a contact lens with an optical structure forming a stereoscopic image is placed on at least one eye of the user, and determining the position of the eyes of the user from the linear size and the angular position of this image relative to the camera. In the contact lens according to the first version, the optical structure is made in the form of an autostereogram and a decoding slit raster, wherein the autostereogram is formed by reflecting said slit raster in the mirror coating, or by forming a shadow from said slit raster on the diffusely reflecting coating. In the contact lens according to the second version, the optical structure is made in the form of an autostereogram and a decoding raster separated by a layer of transparent material in the form of real images from repeating elements with a period of p and at least two different characteristic linear dimensions (d1<1/2⋅p). In the contact lens according to the third version, the optical structure is made in the form of a hologram.

EFFECT: group of inventions makes it possible to increase the accuracy of measuring the position of a contact lens and, as a result, the user's eye.
