FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy. At each heating temperature two samples are upset with two degrees of reduction. Determining the average area of the grain over the entire surface of the longitudinal section of the upset samples in the centres of the cells of the coordinate grid with size of 2.0 mm × 2.0 mm. Values of actual degree of deformation in index of intensity of deformation with reference to centres of cells of coordinate grid are determined in longitudinal section of upset samples by method of mathematical modelling. Values of the average area of the grain and the values of the actual degree of deformation in the deformation intensity index are compared and on their basis plotting of dependences of average area of grain on actual degree of deformation in index of intensity of deformation at temperatures of heating.
EFFECT: as a result, the number of upsetting tests is reduced and the accuracy of plotting diagrams is increased.
